1 Week ago we became parents.

It's hard to believe that a week has gone by since our court date. Almost exactly 1 week ago right now we were bringing Megan back to the apartment. We've seen some pretty big changes in her in the past week. Her sleeping is getting much better. She smiles at us all the time now. She doesn't make us work so hard anymore. She is eating from a spoon without any problem. We are getting to know her and she is getting to know us. It's been a fun week, even if we do feel like we are in the movie Groundhog Day. If you haven't seen it and like stupid comedies, it's worth the rental fee. It's has gotten hard to even figure out the day of the week. Everyday is blending into the next. We are living for upcoming events. Next week two other families adopting from Kokshetau are arriving into town to meet their children. It will be nice to be the old timers able to pass our "vast experience" on to others. Kelly did that for us when we got here. Two weeks from yesterday we head back to Almaty for about a week, three weeks from now we'll be home!! We can't wait to be home. To be honest though it's really nice to have this time with Megan to get to know her without the distractions of regular life, this city and this time we are spending here will always hold a special place in our hearts. We miss our home and all of our friends and family though.

Anyway, nothing too exciting happened here today. I went over to the store to get water and 7-Up. It wasn't too bad temperature-wise, probably 10-15 but it is a bit windy, there is a pretty decent windchill.

Here are today's pictures:

Only one week? You sound like you are old pros already! How wonderful it must be for you to see your child thrive right before your eyes. You are over the hump and will be home before you know it!

Hi Amy, Steve, & Megan. Your pictures seem to bear out your words; she looks great. Aren't Babies neat? You will look back on your 6 weeks for the rest of your life as the wonderful time when Megan adopted a family. I can tell in her eyes that she already knows how lucky she is. I can't wait to meet her.

I hope she has no aversion to grey hair, but Steve's is getting close, so she's probably used to it. Take care and our love to all of you.

Dad
