Our weekend in Atlanta

We spent last weekend in Atlanta visiting our good friends Cindy and Brent. We had a great time spending time with them and we hope we will be invited back again. Another reason for our visit was to attend our adoption agency's annual reunion. Megan was a trooper on the flights and really was a good traveler adapting to different cars, cribs, airplanes, etc. We went to the Atlanta zoo on Friday and attended the reunion on Saturday. Weather was very nice for our weekend. Sunny and 65. Not a drop of rain.

On the other hand, back in Buffalo a disaster was occuring. We flew out Thursday morning only to find out that a storm was blowing into town that afternoon. Heavy wet snow falling on trees filled with leaves. Well after much snow, you can imagine tons of tree branches failing from the weight. Power lines down all over the place. I guess our neighborhood lost power for 28 hours. Our sump pump died way before that. As a result we guess we had about 2-3 inches of water in the basement. When we got home all the water was gone, but the basement was still a mess. We were not at all prepared to see our front/back yard. There were tree limbs all over. It really looked like a war zone. The only real damage that we had was a tree limb when through our roof over the garage. It was really quite a exciting return to our home after a wonderful weekend away.

Resting with Mommy

Tons of bounce houses were at the reunion

They even had a bubble machine!

Finally meeting our Adoption Agency Coordinator - Lisa

Megan cried when she saw Elmo in person. She loves him on tv though.

Having fun on the slide.

She went on the ponies three times!

Our street upon our return.

Our front lawn.

Our roof damage.

Nice backyard!

Check out how big the tree limb is.

Our Supermodel

Today Megan and I were at the mall and we stopped into the toy store to check to see if Megan was on any Fisher Price boxes. (We have gone to Fisher Price several times to have her picture taken - unfortunately they don't tell you whether or not your child will appear on a box in the future - you just have to keep looking) Well Megan made it on a box!!! I was so excited I had to tell the sales clerks in the store. I did buy the toy (just what we need another big toy!) and I have posted the photos below.
