Still Travelling...

Ok, it's Sunday and we are still in airports and on planes. We left Frankfurt for Almaty 12:30 pm Frankfurt time. Once again a thankfully uneventful flight. This flight was about 6 1/2 hours. We landed in Almaty at about 12:00am Monday morning Almaty time. Here we had to go through passport control, a nice long line where they take your picture and stamp your visa. Then we head over to pick up our pile of luggage and then fill out our customs forms and talk to a customs officer. Then out to the airport to fight through all the taxi drivers and look for our driver. There was supposed to be someone there to meet us with a sign with our name on it. We look around and don't see anyone, a couple seconds of panic set in and then the driver and and interpreter come out from behind a big post. Whew! So we head out to the driver's van and load our luggage up and head to an apartment for the night. We get to our apartment at about 2:00 and crash for a few hours. I slept pretty good actually, Amy didn't sleep quite as well.

Here is a picture of the little TV in the head rest of the seat on the plane to Almaty, it is a map showing where the plane is. Also we have a picture of the apartment we were in for about 8 hours.
