We're off!!!!!

Ok, this is Saturday's post. We got up and finished up our packing, I'm not sure either of us got a great night's sleep. We got the house ready for us to be gone for 6+ weeks. Then Amy's Dad arrived at about 12:30 to take us to the airport. There are a couple pics of our pile of luggage and one of us in front of the house as we left. Pretty uneventful from that point forward. We caught our flight from Buffalo to Dulles (Washington, DC) and had about a 3 hour layover there. We grabbed our last bite of American Cuisine (Wendy's) in the airport and boarded our plane to Frankfurt, Germany. This was a very long flight, 7 1/2 hours, but once again uneventful. We had about a 4 hour layover in Frankfurt. This was kind of a strange airport, you know how most American airports have these huge restrooms every 100 yards or so with like 30 urinals and 30 stalls? Well, those restrooms don't exist in the Frankfurt airport, at least not in the terminal we were in, each bathroom looked like a gas station bathroom and had lines waiting to get in to them! The other thing that was different was that there is a restroom at each gate but you can't sit down at a gate without a ticket for that flight. So once you check in at your gate you can use the restroom there.

Anyway, enough about bathrooms. It is now actually Sunday given the time change so that's it for Saturday.

Hi Amy & Steve
The pictures are great. I can't wait to hold Megan and get acquainted. I'm sure you realize how lucky you are to soon have a delightful, lovely little girl. As you might suspect and your note indicates such, that it doesn't take long - in hours, maybe, to establish a bond of love with Megan. Most people would never realize that fact until you actually go through the process. Keep hugging her. I think a lot about the 3 of you and also can't wait until you come home. Love Dad

Hi Woodward family - As I told Chips I think this is the single best use of the internet ever! She is so adorable. I love the pictures of her smiling. I hope the jet lag gets better - probably in time for you to come home. You have many fans here following your adventure so keep it coming.
Merry Christmas and enjoy! You'll be home before you know it. I can't wait to meet her.
Love Al
