Word of the Week - Disappointment

We learned this week that there was some paperwork error in Kaz and instead of us traveling in early November we will be delayed about a month. We now are expected to travel in early December. We will be in Kaz for 6 weeks so we will be over there for the Christmas holiday. We are disappointed that we are not going to be home for the holidays but we are thankful that we will be with our baby regardless. Should be interesting to ring in the new year half way across the globe.

The baby's room is done!

Steve was very busy tonight putting together the crib. After about an hour it was in one piece ready to be occupied. We made the bed, put up some pictures and patiently await for our baby girl's arrival. Speaking of arrival, we are currently awaiting for our coordinator Lisa to call us with our "travel dates". Normally the agency calls and says we need you in Kazakhstan in XX days. Lately it is been about 7-10 days advance notice before you travel. We are preparing ourselves to travel in November. However, it could be later than that. We hope not. It would be nice to be home for Christmas. Once again patience is key to our existence.

Paperwork done for now!

Based on some recent changes in paperwork requirements we had to recently run around killing some more trees. Exactly how many documents can 2 people gather on themselves??? As I say is that we are done with paperwork as of this minute. Yeah.

Trying to get ready to travel.......

We are busy trying to get ourselves ready to travel 1/2 way across the world to get our little baby! We will be in Kazakhstan for 6 weeks with no English channels on the tv, radio, newspapers etc.... How will we survive without our Bills and Sabres updates. Thank god for the internet. We are busy borrowing dvds and books from people to entertain us. How many people have spent 24/7 for 6 weeks straight with their spouse! Luckily we still are newlyweds!

We've accepted a referral!!!

We are thrilled to say that we have accepted the referral of a beautiful baby girl. She is precious and we are very excited to go and get here. More patience is needed as we now wait for our travel dates. We are guessing that we probably will travel in November. Maybe we really will be home for Christmas with the best present anyone could give us.
